Abstract
Textural studies, Petrography and magnetic susceptibility studies were carried out the sedimentary rock materials in and around Vanur, Pondicherry area. The descriptive petrography of sandstone and claystone in Katrambakkam, Vanur and Thoruvai were studied in the field as well as in the laboratory to understand the depositional and post-depositional sedimentary processes
