Abstract
This paper present current differential technique to improve relay performance to distingue between ground fault and without involve of ground fault. The new scheme is proposed for the standalone distance relays and does not inherently require any communication link. It is also applicable for well all known protection scheme. Due to differential current technique it is very easy to identify the ground involvement and also for that required less data for the conclusion. Finally, the proposed method compensates the fault resistance effect. The experimental result verify the efficiency security and dependability of the proposed method. The results indicate that by using the proposed method, the maloperation of the conventional distance relay because of the mutual coupling is mostly resolved. And classify that fault using ANN.
