Abstract
New speed and current estimation techniques with slip speed adaptation are proposed in this paper. By using this single current sensor based vector controlled drive system was formulated. The speed sensorless control is mainly formulated with the help of a modified model reference adaptive system. The current estimation mainly gives the information of phase currents in two phase stationary reference frame by using corresponding synchronous reference frame variables and the vector rotator. Here slip speed is estimated with the help of an adaptation mechanism which improves the slip speed. The new speed and current estimation with slip speed adaptation are simulated in MATLAB/Simulink and experimentally validated through a Dspace-1104-based laboratory prototype.
