Abstract
Construction activities pose serious environmental problems ranging from excessive consumption of global resources both in terms of construction and building operation to the pollution of the surrounding environment. The building design according to green concept provides a balance between homebuilding and the sustainable environment. Careful selection of environmentally sustainable building materials is the easiest way to begin incorporating sustainable design principles in buildings. Green building materials brings together a vast array of practices, techniques, and skills to reduce and ultimately eliminate the impacts of buildings on the environment and human health and expands and complements the classical building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort. Present study evaluates efficiency of Green Building Materials for sustainable construction practices.
