Profitability, leverageand ratio analysis of top seven pharmaceutical companies

Abstract
The study provides an in-depth analysis of all the companies’ financial position thereby reflecting the concerned industry’s financial position which enables the existing and potential investors and creditors to take investment and lending decisions.The study focuses on the management's ability to manage profitability, growth of company and financial leverage.It can provide a decision making frame work for the government to determine any policy for the benefit of specific industry or industries which has/have been examined.Financial performance was measured as Return on Equity.The study investigated several variables viz. DER, Debt to total assets ratio, ICR, ROA ratio and ROE ratio. This study uses regression technique for the analysis of the data. The study has analysed a sampleof 7 pharmaceutical companies for a period of 10 years from 2012-2013 to 2021-2022.The data analysis reveals that considerable differences are found in Return on Equity between the selected Indian pharmaceutical industries.
