Abstract
In this study the disc brake setup of the car brake is studied using Computational Fluid Dynamics package for heat dissipation and an optimal design which has a the most effective heat dissipation is found. In this study three different brake designs are studied namely a baseline design, improved design and a curved design. In this analysis the heat transfer coefficient is calculated and they are plotted against the rotational speed of the wheel. It is found that the improved design is better than the baseline design and the curved design is worse than the baseline design.
